A pilgrimage to Italy following this thoughtfully paced itinerary is a profound spiritual journey that unfolds through prayer, sacred history, and cultural beauty. Departing the United States, pilgrims begin in a spirit of recollection, arriving in Rome—the Eternal City—where the early days are centered on the heart of the Catholic faith. Here, they pray at St. Paul Outside the Walls, attend the Wednesday Papal Audience in St. Peter’s Square, and enter the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica, encountering the living tradition of the Church. The pilgrimage continues through the great basilicas of Rome and into the quiet witness of the early Christians in the catacombs. Leaving the city, pilgrims journey into Umbria, stopping in Orvieto to reflect on the Eucharistic Miracle before arriving in Assisi, where the lives of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare of Assisi inspire simplicity and devotion. Traveling onward, the group visits Siena, honoring St. Catherine of Siena, before continuing into the Tuscan countryside and the artistic splendor of Florence. A day of rest and reflection allows pilgrims to absorb the graces received before returning to Rome for final prayers, thanksgiving, and a farewell Mass. Throughout the journey, daily Mass, communal prayer, and moments of quiet reflection create space for spiritual renewal. This pilgrimage is not only a journey across Italy’s sacred landscapes but also an inward journey, inviting each pilgrim to deepen their faith and return home transformed.
We begin exploring Italy where we meet our local guide after customs and transfer by private motorcoach to the city for hotel check-in or luggage drop. The day unfolds gently with an orientation to Rome, allowing time to recover from the overnight flight while entering into the spiritual rhythm of the pilgrimage, highlighted by a visit to Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls for prayer at the tomb of St. Paul, and, if time permits, a stop at Tre Fontane Abbey, traditionally associated with his martyrdom. In the evening, the group celebrates its first Mass in Rome, followed by a welcome dinner and an early overnight to rest. Overnight: Rome (Dinner)
